NFL betting tips: Caleb Willams, Falcons to struggle; Tagovailoa on form for Dolphins

The NFL is back with a bang and is shaping up nicely ahead of the Game-week two fixtures.

Saquon Barkley looks to be a lock for the Philadelphia Eagles after guiding them to an impressive opening win over Green Bay after a standout performance in Brazil.

Kansas City Chiefs were lucky to come away with a win in their opener - but they will be hoping to continue their winning ways over a deprived-looking Cincinnati Bengals outfit.

Here at Sports News Blitz, we are also off to a flying start, going four for six in our opening game-week picks.

Here's hoping we can continue the winning streak as we give our top picks for the Sky Sports televised matches ahead of Game-week two.

Buffalo Bills at Miami Dolphins

The Buffalo Bills and the Miami Dolphins are set to lock horns this Friday, on the opening day of week 2 in the 2024 season.

The match-up will see star quarterbacks Tua Tagovailoa and Josh Allen go head-to-head in what is touted to be an extremely close clash.

The Dolphins appear to be slight favourites ahead of the game, coming off the back of a hard-fought victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

Tagovailoa was on fire in the opener, throwing for 336 yards and being instrumental in securing a win for the Miami side.

Suggested Bet: Miami Dolphins (-1.5) @ 5/6

San Francisco 49ers at Minnesota Vikings

Gearing up to be an exciting showdown, both the 49ers and the Vikings are coming off the back of dominant performances in the opening week.

The Vikings wiped the floor with the New York Giants in their opening game, with a final scoreline reading 28-6 in favour of the Minnesota team.

In a defensive masterclass, Brian Flores appears to have created a defence capable of anchoring the Vikings - giving them a real chance at contention in the NFC.

Despite a starry performance against the Giants, the Vikings are still touted as underdogs going into this week's match-up with the 49ers.

Having already put a dampener on Aaron Rodgers' return to football, the 49ers look like a team ready to crush the hopes and dreams of their opposition in the NFC.

After cruising past the Jets last week, the 49ers look more than ready for an in-form Vikings side this week.

However, the showdown looks like it could be closer than expected.

While the 49ers look likely to claim victory, they may struggle to cover the handicap, so money on the Vikings’ handicap selection could be a smart play.

Suggested Bet: Minnesota Vikings (+5.5) @ 5/6

Cincinnati Bengals at Kansas City Chiefs

Here's hoping the Bengals can improve on their abysmal showing in game week one.

Unless there is a marked improvement by next week, the Bengals will have no hope of competing with a Kansas City team looking likely to have a good chance at making a third consecutive Super Bowl.

The Chiefs are 1-0 after an arguably lucky win over the Baltimore Ravens in their opener.

The Ravens looked to score a late touchdown that if converted could have secured them an upset win.

Unfortunately for the underdogs, the touchdown was ruled out as the game expired leaving them battered and bruised, facing defeat in their opening game.

Despite just about nicking a win in their opener, the Chiefs look to be heavy favourites on Sunday and unless there is a substantial change with the Bengals over the coming week, they look to be no match for their Kansas counterparts.

Suggested Bet: Kansas City Chiefs (-14.5) @ 5/2

Chicago Bears at Houston Texans

A battle of the prospects, NFL youngsters CJ Stroud and Caleb Williams will battle it out in their quarterback roles in this Monday morning game.

Caleb Willams struggled in his NFL debut for the Bears with a couple of missed throws that highlighted some offensive problems that could plague the Chicago outfit as they progress through the season.

Despite some shaky moments the Bears pulled through to win their opener, though things might not be as easy this week as they face an in-form Houston side.

The Texans won three of their four pre-season games and picked up a win against the Indianapolis Colts to kick off the season on a winning note.

CJ Stroud had his ups and downs in the season opener, but finished with an impressive 78.2% adjusted completion percentage - proving the hype is justified.

If Williams and the Bears’ offensive line can turn up in Texas, fans could be in for a real treat, but as it stands the Texans look likely to move to 2-0 after the Monday night match-up.

Suggested Bet: Under Points (36.5) @ 11/4

Atlanta Falcons at Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles are touted as home favourites heading into their game-week two match-up after a disappointing opener for the Falcons, who lost to the Steelers at home, with the Steelers coming away with a win while absent of a single touchdown.

Star quarterback Kirk Cousins struggled to convert for the Falcons, only throwing for 155 yards and raising concerns over his fitness following an Achilles injury last October.

The Eagles, on the other hand, looked well-drilled throughout their opener in Brazil.

Running back Saquon Barkley was on fire on his Eagles debut, scoring three touchdowns and proving vital to securing a win over the Packers.

While Philadelphia’s defence may have conceded a lot of points, they carried the team in the quarter, only giving away two field goals and allowing their offence to warm into the game.

After a disjointed offensive showing for the Falcons and a superb defensive display for the Eagles in their respective opener, it seems sensible to hedge your bets on the Eagles to come away with a decisive win and move to 2-0 on Tuesday morning.

Suggested Bet: Winning Margin 7-12 Philadelphia Eagles @ 4/1
