NFL betting tips: Philadelphia Eagles to trump Jacksonville Jaguars, Travis Kelce to spark

It is NFL gameweek nine and that means we have reached the halfway point of the regular season, with the league table now starting to take shape.

The Kansas City Chiefs are the only team yet to lose a game this season and they will expect to extend that run against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Tuesday.

Elsewhere, the Philadelphia Eagles look to have found their form and, with a subpar Jacksonville Jaguars to play on Monday, they will be hoping to continue their ascent up the table.

Once again, Sports News Blitz’s NFL tipster extraordinaire Sam Condy has scoured the Sky Bet markets to find the best bets ahead of this week’s action.

Houston Texans at New York Jets

Up first on the Sky Sports NFL schedule this week, we have a winning team versus a losing team.

The New York Jets have faced five straight defeats as we head into the mid-season while the Houston Texans are enjoying a 6-2 record and sitting comfortably atop the AFC South.

This matchup, however, could be far closer than it looks on paper. The Jets have been unlucky to lose in many of their games this season. On the other end of the spectrum, the Texans have had no easy wins and do not look to be the dominant force that their record suggests.

With the Jets in desperate need of a win, it looks like they may be able to pull one out of the bag. Crucially, Houston’s quarterback CJ Stroud has been sacked 22 times this season (4th in the NFL). If the Jets' defence turns up, football fans could be in for an upset in New York.

Suggested bet: New York Jets @ 8/11

Jacksonville Jaguars at Philadelphia Eagles

In what looks to be a one-sided matchup, the Jacksonville Jaguars will have to bring their A-game if they want any chance of competing with the red-hot Philadelphia outfit.

The Eagles endured a slow start to the season but now look to be hitting their stride. Having trounced the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 8, they are shaping up to be a serious Super Bowl contender.

After struggling defensively earlier in the season, the Eagles' two rookie cornerbacks have stepped up to the plate, and the side now looks a well-rounded threat for any team in the league.

The Jaguars, on the other hand, have imploded this season, and it is hard to see things getting any better for the side this week.

Suggested bet: Winning margin 13+ Philadelphia Eagles @ 11/8

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Kansas City Chiefs

Fortunately for the Chiefs, Travis Kelce’s lack of early season form has not hindered the reigning Super Bowl champions, who remain the only undefeated side in the NFL after a win over the Raiders on Sunday.

Now, after catching for 90 yards and netting his first touchdown of the season, is the world's biggest Swiftie finally finding his form?

Both teams look dangerous on the front foot, meaning defence will likely be the deciding factor. The Chiefs rank fifth in the league in yards per play allowed, whereas the Bucs sit way down in 29th.

Tampa’s defence was the let-down factor in last week's loss to the Falcons and, with Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce leading the charge, finding their feet against the Chiefs this week is a next-to-impossible task.

There is, after all, a reason the Chiefs are heavy favourites to make their third successive appearance in the February showpiece.

Suggested bet: Kansas City Chiefs (-8.5) @ 5/6

The Philadelphia bet is without a doubt the biggest risk-taker - perhaps a single on that one would prove a smart play. Nevertheless, the odds on a triple do look quite tasty this week.

Accumulator odds: 6.52/1
