NFL betting tips: Ravens to win Tampa Bay tussle; Chargers defense to prevail

It was a mixed bag last week, going 50% in our gameweek six picks, though trusting the Cincinnati Bengals finally paid off as they stomped to victory against the New York Giants.

Elsewhere, the Seattle Seahawks were unable to come away with a win against the San Francisco 49ers, as a tight game slipped out of their grasp in the final quarter.

Meanwhile, the Chicago Bears put the Jacksonville Jaguars to bed in a near-perfect performance in London.

Once again, Sports News Blitz’s NFL tipster Sam Condy has scoured the Sky Bet markets and identified some of the top picks ahead of this gameweek’s action.

Denver Broncos at New Orleans Saints

The Denver Broncos have had a fantastic defensive season so far this year, ranking second in sacks in the NFL while only allowing opponents an average of just 16 points per game.

However, the side’s offense has failed to capitalise on their great defensive performance.

The Broncos are managing just 18.7 points per game, while rookie QB Bo Nix has struggled to find his feet.

The New Orleans Saints have looked dangerous on offense, averaging 27.8 points per game (sixth in the NFL). However, the side has had a run of unfortunate injuries, with most of their points being scored by a now-injured Derek Carr.

Carr was absent at the team’s training on Tuesday so it seems highly likely he will miss this Friday’s match-up as he continues to recover from an oblique injury.

The Saints are without their main scoring threat Denver have an air-tight defense, so it looks like a low-scoring game is on the cards as these two clash on Friday.

Suggested Bet: Under Points (36.5) @ 10/11

New York Jets at Pittsburgh Steelers

Yet another game that is gearing up to be a battle of fine margins.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are coming off the back of their best win of the season, flattening the Las Vegas Raiders as they cruised to a 32-13 win in Sin City.

Despite a landslide win at the weekend, the Steelers have struggled to score high this season, with just 20.7 points per game.

Carrying the same tune, the New York Jets have also looked less than remarkable through the opening six weeks.

A big mistake in the dying minutes from Aaron Rodgers last week saw the Jets leave with a loss against the Bills after a Hail-Mary pass was intercepted.

It's looking like Father time may have finally caught up with the 40-year-old superstar, who has struggled to get off the mark this season, transpiring in a lack of offensive threat.

This game will be close, but we are backing the Steelers to just edge it.

Suggested Bet: Pittsburgh Steelers (+1.5) @ 5/6

Los Angeles Chargers at Arizona Cardinals

This will be an interesting game. The Chargers are currently the most effective defensive side in the league.

On the other side of the coin, Arizona have a defence that seems to be continuously letting them down.

It looks unlikely that there will be much offense wizardry on Tuesday, with both sides struggling to score through the opening six.

In a game where defense will be the primary decider, it’s impossible to bet against the Chargers this week.

Suggested Bet: Los Angeles Chargers (-4.5) @ 11/8

Baltimore Ravens at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Baltimore Ravens have been on fire offensively this season.

Lamar Jackson seems to be getting better and better, throwing for over 300 yards for two consecutive games now. The QB appears to be continuously diversifying his repertoire, and as a result, the Baltimore outfit are a nightmare to defend.

Coupled with the scoring prowess of Derrick Henry, the Ravens are a problem for any defense in the league.

On the other hand, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have also been putting on a scoring clinic this season.

Second in the NFL in points per game (29.7), the Buccaneers are equally as prolific.

This game could turn into an old-fashioned shootout, though with Lamar Jackson being perhaps the best-performing QB in the league, the Ravens should manage to scrape a victory.

Suggested Bet: Baltimore Ravens (-3.5) @ 10/11
