Premier League betting tips: Enzo Fernandez to score, and Darwin Nunez to do something…probably
There are few things The Bookie Basher loathes more than modern-day, squeaky-clean pundits - polished by endless media training - who rarely nail their colours to the mast and love to cover all eventualities.
Not so Sergio Aguero. Before Manchester City’s Champions League play-off first leg against Real Madrid, the Argentine boldly declared, “Real Madrid can't beat City. If they beat City, I'll cut off my testicles.”
You HAVE TO admire that level of confidence, even if Los Blancos did, in fact, beat Pep Guardiola’s side 3-2 on the night and 6-3 on aggregate. (As far as anyone knows, Agüero still has ‘dos cojones’ intact.)
In solidarity with big Sergio, The Bookie Basher is willing to put his own on the line - figuratively, of course - if he can’t land a winner or two for readers this week.
In this article, Sports News Blitz writer The Bookie Basher takes a hilarious yet insightful look at this weekend’s Premier League betting, backing Enzo Fernandez to score and Darwin Nunez to - well, hopefully - find the target.
Leicester City v Brentford
Leicester City have lost each of their last five Premier League home games.
If that piece of information didn’t scare you Leicester fans enough, the Foxes have never lost six in a row on home soil in their league history.
Brentford’s 4-1 win in the reverse fixture and their recent form - which has been half-decent- leads my spider senses to believe a punt on the away win lands on Friday night.
Suggested Bet: Brentford to win at 21/20 (Ladbrokes)
Everton v Manchester United
Everton have lost their last five Premier League games against Manchester United, failing to score in the last four.
Yet it’s going to take a brave punter to steam into the Red Devils surely to win at Goodison in Saturday’s early kick-off?
Chinos or no chinos you must have some sympathy for Ruben Amorim over the number of players Manchester United had missing because of injury last weekend.
Their bench against Spurs was moving mad, with three 17-year-olds, three 19-year-olds, two 18-year-olds and big Victor Lindelof.
As for Everton, plenty were not convinced Beto was a £30m striker just a few short weeks ago. He looked a shambles at times.
But Beto under David Moyes is a different animal and the Moyesiah has got him playing to his strengths, running into channels rather than with his back to the goal.
Not to mention, the fact the Toffees are getting it forward - and quickly - has also been to his benefit.
People are putting money - real money - on Man United to win this at 2/1!
Trust me, there's genuinely more chance of Shergar turning up on Merseyside, minus an ear, with a tattoo of Sinbad from Brookside on his thigh.
Suggested Bet: Everton to win at 8/5 (Hills)
Aston Villa v Chelsea
Aston Villa have lost just one of their last 22 Premier League home games played on Saturdays, but I’m still in a f***king fettle about the fact they could not put away 10-man Ipswich last weekend.
That 1-1 draw did me dirty with a couple of accas and so I’m going to row in with a maverick 16/1 play and that is Enzo Fernandez to score first.
OK, cards on the table here. I get it. He has only managed six goals in 69 Premier League games at an average of 0.09 goals a game.
However, the Argentine cost £106.8 million, and there’s no denying he’s got a decent skin fade.
Suggested Bet: Fernandez to score first at 16/1 (Coral/Skybet)

Newcastle United v Nottingham Forest
Not many would have had this as a battle for Champions League qualification back in August but it very much f***king is as Forest travel to Tyneside this weekend.
This is being billed as the battle of the sharp-shooters up top. And if it’s not it should be.
Alexander Isak has scored 17 league goals, whereas Chris Wood has notched 18.
Wood is 7/1 to score first here and that’s simply too big given how majestic he has been around the auld onion bag this season. Get on it and get on it large.
Suggested Bet: Wood to score first at 7/1 (BetVictor/Betfair Sportsbook/Paddy Power)

Manchester City v Liverpool
Liverpool have entered a crucial juncture in their bid to win the Premier League title, with the leaders facing three massive games in the space of eight days.
The Reds moved eight points clear at the top after being held to a breathless draw at Aston Villa on Wednesday, February 20.
So it’s Manchester City this weekend and then Newcastle the Wednesday after - three massive games, all in the space of eight days.
Pep Guardiola's City might currently be 17 points behind Arne Slot's side, but the Reds have only won one of their past five meetings between the sides across all competitions.
That’s a naughty, naughty stat if you are a Reds fan.
That said, City barely laid a glove on Real Madrid over two legs and for me, that is a sure sign of their steep downward curve this season.
Three points here would be huge for Liverpool and Arne Slot can get them going again against a City side who are having no rub when it comes to injuries to key personnel.
As an aside, it’s mad to think Liverpool laid out £64 million for Darwin Nunez.
There’s a good player in there somewhere. He just needs to work on his shooting, technique, accuracy, heading, link-up play, mid-ranging finishing and that ridiculous barnet.
Suggested Bet: Liverpool to win & both teams to score at 5/2 (bet365/Skybet)
