Betting tips: Man Utd to score but Liverpool to win; De Bruyne to cast spell on Irons
The Bookie Basher is in bullish mood after tipping Brighton to beat Man Utd (and both teams to score) last weekend, and United are on his radar again as they face Liverpool at Old Trafford.
Arne Slot takes his in-form Reds to Manchester for a duel with fellow Dutchman Erik ten Hag, while pacesetting Brighton travel to The Emirates for a mouth-watering clash with Mikel Arteta’s Gunners, who are also on six points after two opening wins.
Leeds were too strong for Sheffield Wednesday last week to land another winning tip for the Basher, who is focused firmly on top-tier games in this week’s predictions.

Arsenal v Brighton
Both of these teams have made perfect starts to the season thus far, so something has to give at The Emirates.
Eyebrows were raised when Brighton appointed a 31-year-old, but to be fair to Fabian Hurzeler he has hardly put a foot wrong so far this term.
Having napped them at 3/1 to beat Manchester United last week as well, we are already big Hurzeler fans on this page, obvs.
Arsenal away is a huge test, though, with the Gunners chalked up around the 1/3 mark to record yet another win in north London.
The Gunners laid down an early marker in the title race with that win at Villa, and won’t be short of confidence after doing the double over the Seagulls last season.
A 2-1 win for the Londoners can be punted at 17/2 and as this is unlikely to be a cakewalk, that could be the way to bet.
As an aside, something I’ve been wondering for a month or so now is how Senor Arteta knew a professional f**king pickpocket team? After all he’s a progressive Premier League manager. Not a Dickensian slum landlord. Mind blown.

West Ham v Manchester City
The Citizens are - rather ominously - top of the pile after just two games and West Ham United don’t have a particularly great record against the reigning Premier League champions.
Indeed City have won six of their last seven matches against the Hammers in the Premier League, and so it’s no shock to see them around the 2/5 mark here to claim another three points.
Man City’s current midfield options are scary, and Kevin De Bruyne has made a hugely impressive start to the season and looks to be fully fit once more.
The Belgian has provided 17 assists in 2024 - at least seven more than any other player across all competitions - and with this in mind Skybet’s price of 7/4 for De Bruyne 1+ Assists needs attention.

Newcastle United v Tottenham
All eyes will be on Tyneside this Sunday for a high-profile Premier League clash between two teams with legitimate European ambitions.
In truth the Toon were lucky to leave Bournemouth with a point last weekend and had VAR to thank in the end, but they are still unbeaten and will be quietly confident that they can take care of Spurs here.
Newcastle at 6/4 will be a popular bet (they have a decent recent record at home to Spurs) but the smart play here is surely Son Heung-min to score?
The tender scoundrel was quite brilliant in that 4-0 shellacking of Everton last weekend and I don’t have much faith in this makeshift Toon defence (who will again be without Fabian Schar who is still banned after that comical red against Southampton).
Son is a real problem when he’s in the mood and 13/8 that he finds the net on Sunday looks a punt.

Manchester United v Liverpool
The next chapter of arguably the most famous rivalry in English football takes place this Sunday, and it should be a fascinating watch.
The animosity between Manchester United and Liverpool dates back well over a century, and our hunch is that Arne Slot can make it three wins on the bounce with victory down the M62.
Slot has masterminded back-to-back 2-0 victories so far for the Reds, but faces his first significant test against a Man United side who often raise their game in this fixture.
The jury is very much still out on this Erik ten Hag side, who look slick one minute and then the next like they couldn't find the opposition goal with Google Maps and a torch.
It’s still slightly strange to see any away team priced up at odds on to win a Premier League game at Old Trafford - given how consistently dominant they were in this league for so long under Fergie - but Liverpool are a shade of odds on to win Sunday’s big one.
That price does actually feel tighter than Rambo’s headband, so instead I’ll be having a bet on Liverpool to win & both teams to score at a far more palatable 2/1.
