Championship betting tips: Burnley to bounce back, Luton Town’s woes to continue
Matchday 34 is upon us, and as we near the final dozen matches of the ever-chaotic EFL Championship season, the stakes have never been higher.
Sports News Blitz have recruited a Championship tipster to steer us through the closing stages of the race for automatic promotion and the play-off places.
That man is Ethan Pitts, and here are his selections for selected weekend games in England’s second tier.
Burnley vs Sheffield Wednesday
To kick-off our weekend selections, Burnley welcome Danny Rohl’s Sheffield Wednesday side to Turf Moor on Friday night.
Turf Moor has become a fortress for Burnley this season, with the Clarets still yet to lose a game in front of their home faithful.
However, what is almost as scary is the fact that no side has left Turf Moor having scored more than one goal.
This may point to the fact that Burnley are very good at stopping that white round thing from entering the goal rather than opposition attackers turning into Jimmy Carr once they enter the stadium.
To conclude our segment on this game, I’m taking Burnley to have over four corners. Burnley have hit this line in 80% of their home games this season and I can’t see this percentage decreasing.
Suggested bet: Burnley to draw or win, Burnley to have over 4 corners, and Sheffield Wednesday to score under 2 goals at 4/5 (Bet365)

Sunderland vs Hull City
Moving on to our second selection, we see the Tigers travel down to Tyneside to face high-flying Sunderland.
It wouldn’t surprise me if Regis Le Bris and his side are still suffering from earache after Elland Road’s late eruption on Monday night.
However, despite his side's damaging loss on the day, Wilson Isidor showed his credentials to step up when it matters for his side.
Isidor doesn’t touch the ball a right lot, but when he does it normally doesn’t end well for the opposition’s defence.
Since the arrival of Enzo Le Fee, Isidor’s game has been taken to a new level. The Frenchman has registered four goals in his last five matches, proving to be the talisman in Sunderland’s promotion charge.
The odds of Isidor to score at 2/1 are simply too good to turn my nose up at.
Suggested bet: Wilson Isidor to score anytime at 2/1 (Unibet and BetMGM)

Coventry City vs Preston North End
Flying into our third selection, we see Frank Lampard's Coventry City side play host to Preston North End.
Since the arrival of Lampard, we have seen Coventry have a huge upturn in form, now sitting in seventh.
Although Preston have also seen improvements since the arrival of Paul Heckingbottom, their away form is far from exemplary.
The Lilywhites have only won three games away from home all season and I cannot see that changing come Saturday against a mean and confident Coventry train.
Adding onto this selection, we have Ellis Simms to register a shot on target. Since Haji Wright’s injury, Simms has cemented himself as a mainstay in the Coventry side.
Simms has showcased a level of confidence we hadn’t seen too much of under Mark Robins and I feel this will show off as his shot tally continues to rise.
Suggested bet: Coventry to win and Ellis Simms to have a shot on target at 8/5 (Bet365)

Watford vs Luton Town
Concluding this week’s selections is the M1 Derby between Watford and travelling Luton Town.
I’d advise all Luton fans to look away now, as I’m once again betting against them this weekend.
What is going wrong at Kenilworth Road? It was only 12 months ago that they were travelling to Anfield and hosting Manchester United in the span of four days.
Now, they sit perilously at the bottom of the second tier in huge trouble of back-to-back relegations.
It has been exactly two months since Luton won a game of football, and when you combine that with the fact that Watford have the fifth best home record in the league, there is only one outcome.
Suggested bet: Watford to beat Luton Town at 29/20 (William Hill)
Suggested combined accumulator: 29.24/1 (Bet365)
