Premier League betting tips: Liverpool to add to Man City’s woe, Danny Welbeck to net
The Bookie Basher is licking his lips at the prospect of Liverpool facing a reeling Man City team this weekend, and is also backing joy for Brighton and Arsenal.
Arne Slot’s Reds are running away at the top of the Premier League table, and London pair Arsenal and Chelsea could leapfrog Pep Guardiola’s defending champions in the race to keep up with them if Sports News Blitz’s top-flight tipster’s predictions come in.
The BB is a confident lad at the best of times but hit the jackpot last week and had bookies desperately seeking his identity, which of course is top secret.
Time for him to take centre stage and deliver his tips for this weekend’s nonsense.
The last outlaw of sports betting
Four tips last week; 6/1 and 17/10 winners and further proof that I remain a tender scoundrel and very much the last outlaw of sports betting.
PS - Ipswich’s whole squad is worth about £8.50 and yet they drew with Manchester United. Mad ting, bruv. Let’s get onto the tips shall we…
Brighton vs Southampton
Fifth plays rockbottom. Southampton gave it a real go against Liverpool last time out and a similar showing could see them claim something here.
However, I do honestly think this stinks of routine home win.
Having been winless in their first seven Premier League meetings with the Saints (drawing four and losing three), Brighton have now won three of their last five against them (drawing two).
Danny Welbeck may still be exuding Mercedes on finance, techno/trance weekend DJ energy, but he has scored six goals already this season and has been in sensational form.
Suggested bet: Welbeck to score first at 11/2 (BetMGM/Unibet)

West Ham vs Arsenal
The Hammers have mostly known heartbreak in this fixture in the Premier League - 28 times these London rivals have met and the Gunners have only lost four times.
It stands to reason then why the Arse are piping hot 8/15 shots for the win.
Brazilian defender Gabriel might miss the clash but Arteta’s mob have scored eight goals in their last two matches and should be good for three points here.
Suggested bet: Arsenal to win and both teams to score at 21/10 (bet365/Bet Victor)
Chelsea vs Aston Villa
Villa seem to have run out of steam in recent weeks and it is worth remembering that they have lost all three matches against teams above them in the league this season.
The Blues are averaging 1.9 goals a game in the league and sit proudly in third.
Enzo Fernandez was brilliant against Leicester and I’m not afraid to get stuck into this unpretentious rabble rouser to score again at 6/1 in West London.
Suggested bet: Fernandez to score anytime at 6/1 (BetMGM/Unibet)

Liverpool vs Manchester City
These are unprecedented times. 1956 was the last time an English top-flight reigning champion lost five matches in a row in all competitions.
No f***ing (xG) expected goals back then, by the way. Just tinned fruit with evaporated milk, fish on Fridays and Peck and salad cream sandwiches.
A stunned Pep Guardiola began his post-match news conference after that shellacking against Tottenham by saying "when you lose 4-0 there is not much to say”.
Going to stop you there, Pep. I reckon punters steaming into Man City at 8/15 in a heavy single last Saturday or who might have been waiting on them to win the late TV game to get an Acca up will have had plenty to say (and most of it of the Anglo-Saxon variety).
Liverpool at 21/20 looks like a smash job, doesn’t it?
Mo Salah is fifth on Liverpool’s all-time record scoring list in all competitions with 223 goals from 367 games behind Ian Rush (346), Roger Hunt (285), Gordon Hodgson (241) and Billy Liddell (228).
Man City cannot buy a clean sheet and while the midweek draw against Feyenoord at the Etihad ended City's five-game losing run, the club have not won since beating Southampton 1-0 on October 26.
Suggested bet: Liverpool to win at 21/20 (Betfair Sportsbook/Paddy Power)
